plant study
bienvenidos!welcome!
I’m so glad you’re here. This page is an invitation to enter a plant study —often known as a Dieta — a period of intentional connection with the spirit of Cacao. A space that is simple, sincere and sacredly held.
For a short window of time, you’ll reduce outer noise and simplify your life so that subtlety has space to emerge. Consider this a gentle pause from the pace of every day life and a gift to yourself. This portal is an opportunity to slow down, restore your being and build a relationship with Cacao rooted in reciprocity and reverence.
When outer noise lowers, sensitivity increases. When sensitivity increases, subtlety becomes available. When subtlety becomes available, spiritual growth can emerge. That is what we are cultivating. During this time, we minimize our interactions with the outer world to protect the connection with your plant and support easeful integration after your study is complete.
Something to note: we’re not recreating a traditional dieta here nor trying to manufacture a mystical experience — we’re simply connecting and creating right relationship with Cacao. Nothing needs to be forced. Nothing needs to be impressive. Just honest and true.
During your plant study, you will devote yourself to:
✺ Intentional StructureYou’ll drink Cacao daily, simplify your diet and stimulation, and devote time to quiet reflection. We will open and close the container together, and I’ll remain available for support if something feels unclear or significant. Additionally, you’ll receive six-month access to my self-paced Cacao course, Walking with Cacao.
✺ Personal ContainmentYour relationship with Cacao is your own — private, quiet, and held with care. The strength of this study comes from containment. What ripens in quietude tends to root more deeply.
✺ Curiosity + ObservationAllow curiosity to be your guiding light. Pay attention to your thoughts, feelings, emotions and happenings in your life without trying to manufacture meaning or overanalyze. This is a practicing of being with yourself. Cacao tends to amplify what is already present — warmth, grief, desire, memory, clarity… trust what arises and allow it teach and transform you.
✺ Reverence + ReciprocityThis Cacao comes from living land and living tradition. It has been tended, harvested, prepared and passed through many hands before reaching yours. Part of this study is recognizing and remembering that relationship. Reverence doesn’t have to be dramatic — it can be as simple as intentional attention, gratitude and willingness to learn.
who is Cacao?
✺
who is Cacao? ✺
Cacao (Theobroma cacao — often translated as “food of the gods”) is a tropical tree native to Central and South America and a subtle, yet powerful Plant Teacher.
While not a psychedelic, Cacao’s grounding yet uplifting energy invites you out of the mind and into the body, providing a soft yet expansive shift into a sustainable state of presence and connection.
This beautiful plant spirit works not through force, but frequency. Softening what’s tense, opening what’s guarded and reminding you that love begins within.
Rooted in ancestral wisdom, Cacao harmonizes the cyclical and the sacred. She awakens intuition, creation and remembrance. She amplifies what is already alive.
Cacao is a tree medicine — a being of earth and sky. With roots firmly planted in the soil, her branches stretch toward the light. In that way, she serves as a mirror for us. For we too are made of earth and the spirit of the stars. We too began as small seeds. And like the Cacao tree, the impact we have can be both quiet and profound.
To work with Cacao is to remember the essence of relationship — with land, with lineage, with one another.
Cacao also carries history. She has been revered across cultures for thousands of years — and she has also been exploited — along with the lands and people who have stewarded her. To engage with Cacao consciously means being willing to hold both reverence and awareness of her complexity and the impact of colonization. It means understanding that sustainability and reciprocity are not trends — they are responsibilities. Knowing her origins matters. How we source her matters. How we consume her matters.
Right relationship is how we experience and share her medicine with integrity.
While many people describe Cacao as heart medicine, Cacao holds the energy of both the heart and womb. She often serves as a bridge. A bridge between mind and body. Between fire and water. Between soil and sky. Between grief and gratitude. Between isolation and community. Between the ancient and the modern. She invites us into connection — not as an idea, but as a lived state of being.
Like her roots that communicate through vast underground networks, Cacao reminds us that we are already woven into something larger than ourselves.
Cacao also gently opens the door to the heart as a field of perception and instills greater coherence within our being.
When the heart softens, we often remember things we already know. Intuition sharpens. Creativity flows more freely. Forgiveness becomes accessible. Community grows.
Naturally, Cacao can also awaken play. There is a quiet joy in Cacao. A warmth that touches both the inner child and the wisest self at the same time.
Cacao doesn’t ask us to become someone new. She invites us to become more fully our truest selves — grounded, connected and attuned.
about this
Cacao
✺
The Cacao you’ll be working with comes from the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta region in Colombia and is cultivated in alignment with Arhuaco cosmology. The Arhuaco people consider these mountains The Heart of the World. This Cacao has been grown, harvested, and prepared with care from first thought to seed to harvest, in continuity with land-based tradition.
Part of this plant study is about rooting into a holistic understanding of plant relations — one approached with humility, gratitude, and respect for the people and lands that have stewarded Cacao long before us — and to allow that awareness to shape how you honor Cacao moving forward.
why do a
plant study?
Beautiful question! There are several reasons to join a plant study. You may feel called to…
cultivate a reciprocal relationship with the natural world and plant allies
experience a form of nourishment that is emotional, spiritual and embodied — not just physical
open your heart gently, at your own pace, in a way that feels safe and supported
listen more clearly to your inner voice, intuition and subtle knowing
move through grief, tenderness or emotional layers with care and companionship
soften patterns of protection and reconnect with your natural sensitivity
bring more intention, presence and ritual into your everyday life
reconnect with your body, your rhythm and your cyclical nature
receive guidance, insight or clarity in a season of transition or questioning
feel held by something ancient, wise and beyond the mind
slow down and step out of the urgency of modern life into a more grounded pace
remember what it feels like to be in relationship — with yourself, with spirit, with the earth
anchor into a devotional practice that continues to unfold long after the study is complete

Cacao:
self-paced course
✺
Alongside the plant study, you’ll receive six-month access to a short, self-paced course designed to gently deepen your relationship with Cacao.
While much of this experience unfolds through direct connection, this offering provides a layer of context for the mind—exploring cacao’s history, her botanical nature, and the deeper orientation of relating with her as a living presence. We touch into themes of reciprocity, reverence, and integrity—honoring where Cacao comes from, how she’s cultivated, and what it means to walk with her in a way that is conscious and connected.
This can also be a great option for those who aren’t ready to commit to a 1:1 plant study, but would like to begin learning. You can apply ½ of what you pay for the stand-alone course towards a future plant study with Cacao.
Please note that this course is not a facilitation training or certification, and it does not grant permission to serve Cacao, though it may support you in that process if that is part of your path.
Whats included in your Cacao Plant Study:Plant studies can be offered in-person or digitally, depending on distance.

Share sacred song to create + root the container
You’ll also have the opportunity to offer your prayers and intentions during this time.

Sacred song to close the container and shift the study into Integration
-
You will receive:
1lb of Jaguar Siembra ceremonial cacao (Arhuaco lineage)
A traditional molinillo for preparation
A digital guide walking you through preparation + dosage, dietary + lifestyle guidelines, navigating the portal and more
I also suggest sourcing the following if you feel called:
Ethical copal resin
Charcoal discs
A copalera
These are not required, but they help mark the study as sacred and distinct from everyday life and support the clearing of energy along the diet. Simplicity is encouraged. Nothing elaborate is necessary.
-
Support is part of the container. For a 7-day study, this includes:
Two 30-minute calls (typically on Day 3 and Day 6)
For longer studies:
An additional 30-minute call for every two days beyond seven (example: Days 3, 6 and 8 for a 9-day study)
You are also welcome to text for emergent questions or clarifications. These calls are not for processing every detail — they are for recalibration, discernment and steadiness.
-
One week after your closing, we will meet for a 30-minute integration call.
This space is for:
Reflecting on what stabilized or shifted after the study
Clarifying insights, illuminations and inspirations
Identifying one grounded action to carry forward
Integration is where the study becomes embodied.
-
Alongside the plant study, you’ll receive access to a short, self-paced course, Walking with Cacao, for those who feel called to continue deepening their relationship with Cacao.

We move through themes of reciprocity, reverence, and integrity—honoring where Cacao comes from, how she’s cultivated, and what it means to walk with her in a way that is conscious and connected.
Please note that this is not a training or a certification, and it does not grant permission to serve Cacao. It is an invitation into deepening into right relationship with the medicine so that it can continue to unfold in your own way over time.
